About Ludus Magnus
Also known as The Great Gladiatorial Training School, the Ludus Magnus was the largest gladiatorial arena in Rome. Emperor, Domitian (81-96 AD) built it between the Esquiline and the Caelian Hills in order to connect to the Colosseum by an underground tunnel. Blueprints indicate there was a small area for spectators to watch the Gladiators practice.
