Roman National Museum - Palazzo Altemps

About the Palazzo Altemps

The building was constructed in the 15th century for Girolamo Riario, who was a relation to Pope Sixtus IV. A fresco painting depicting the celebration of Girolamo and Caterina Sforza’s wedding in 1477 is still visible on one of the walls. The building is currently used as a National Roman Museum – Palazzo Altemps and displays a large Renaissance and Egyptian collection.
