General Information Public Transportation in Rome

Tickets are valid for all modes of public transportation within Rome – buses, trams, metro and limited rail services within the urban area of Rome.

Tickets do not include travel between Fiumicino Airport and Roma Termini Station, or the Leonardo Express Train.

IMPORTANT: Tickets are not validated at time of purchase, therefore you must tap it on one of the magnetic-electronic readers located on the bus or at the entryways of the underground.

Single – € 1.50  – Valid for 100 minutes and can be used on all modes of public transportation within Rome.

24 Hours – € 7.00

48 Hours – € 12.50

72 Hours – € 18.00

7 Days – € 24.00

Vending machines located at metro stations and larger bus stops.

Tickets can be purchased online and picked up at an Atac ticket office or delivered to a home address for an extra fee.  

Although your card is already activated, you still need to validate it each time you board.
