About the Spanish Steps

The Spanish Steps are a large staircase that connects the Trinità dei Monti Church with the Piazza di Spagna. Francesco de Sanctis and Alessandro Specchi designed the 135 step staircase in 1717. During this time, the steps connected the Bourbon Spanish Embassy with the Trinità dei Monti Church.
