St. Peter's Church

About St. Peter's Church

This Lutheran Church was built during the first century and dedicated to St. Peter. The building is a mixture of Gothic, Romanesque, and early Baroque style architecture. A Gothic tower was added to the building in 1666, however it collapsed and a new Baroque style tower was built in 1690. Unfortunately lightening struck the tower in 1721 which led to it burning down.  A new tower was finally built in 1967 with galleries added for sightseeing. Today, the tower is still popular with the tourists.
