About Terezin Memorial Site

During the Nazi occupation of the Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia), Terezin was converted into a Jewish Ghetto and Concentration Camp where thousands men, women, and children were either killed or deported to Auschwitz and other extermination camps. Today, visitors can: walk through the small fortress and see the former police prison, see the Ghetto Museum, national cemetery, a memorial on the bank of the Ohře River, visit the park of the Terezin Children, the former Magdeburg Barracks, the Jewish Prayer Room, Railway siding, the Columbarium, Ceremonal Halls, the Jewish Cemetery and the crematorium, and the Cemetery of Soviet soldiers.

Public Transportation

Prague to Terezin

Take Metro C or a Tram and get off at Nádraží Holešovice.

Take a bus at Prague Holešovice Bus Terminal to Terezin – Památníku.

Book tickets online, at the bus terminal or from the bus driver.

Terezin to Prague

Buses go frequently from Terezin so either buy your tickets from the driver or book a return journey online.

This attraction can take up to 4 – 6 hours to view in it’s entirety. 

This is a very thought provoking site and can be distressing for some visitors.

The bus journey is approximately 1 hour each way.
